Note: EIE is not a certification, but a state credential / level.

EIE Application Process

If you are not a current member, visit the Membership Page. You may join as a supporting member. Note: Keep a copy of your current membership application as proof of membership.

Send your application, along with a check or money order made payable to FRID to: Rhonda NeSmith, 731 Osceola Ave., Lake Wales, FL 33853
- You will be scheduled for the written test and receive notification of your scheduled written test date via e-mail.

Once you have received notification that you have passed the written test with a score of 75% or higher, you may then register for the performance portion of the test. Note: You can pay for both portions of the test at the same time, but you will not be scheduled for the performance test until you have passed the written test and received confirmation.

QA/EIE Rater Recruitment
Training Dates
Polk County School Board - August 14, 2010
Orlando - October Frid Conference 2010
FRID is currently seeking talented members interested in furthering our profession by rating QA or EIE candidate tapes. This is a valuable service to our members and to the Deaf community.
FRID Rater training -
•· To become a rater, individuals must complete FRID rater training
•· Rater training will be held at least once a year
•· Not all rater training participants will be invited to become QA/EIE raters
Raters Qualifications:
•· Nationally Certified
•· Experience working in a variety of settings
•o For EIE raters, experience working in a variety of K-12 settings
•· A letter of reference from either a Deaf consumer or a certified member in good standing attesting to your professionalism and your ability to remain neutral and unbiased.
•· Willingness to commit to spending anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours to evaluate each candidate's tape
•· Willingness to rate and return tapes in a timely manner as specified in the Rater Contract
•· Promise to follow the NAD-RID Code of Professional conduct and the RID Ethical Practices System guidelines.
