The following tests and diagnostic screenings are available for interpreters in Florida

• NIC - National Interpreter Certification - Interpreters holding any of the following certificates AND holding membership as a Certified Member of RID are considered nationally certified: NIC, NIC-Advanced, NIC-Master, CI, CT, CI/CT, CSC, MCSC, CDI-P, CDI, RSC, OTC, OIC:C, OIC:S/V, OIC:V/S, IC, TC, IC/TC, NAD-III, NAD-IV, NAD-V.   Certifications and membership for these individuals can be verified in the online RID Member Directory.  More information on these certifications can be found on the websites listed below:

• EIPA – Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment - Interpreters who have passed the EIPA written test AND scored at least a 4.0 on the EIPA performance test may now join RID as certified members and maintain certification as an educational interpreter (ED: K-12) by participating in the RID Certification Maintenance Program (CMP) and by adhering to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct (CPC), enforceable by the RID Ethical Practices System (EPS).

• FRID QA - Quality Assurance Screening  - The FRID Quality Assurance Screening (QA) is a diagnostic assessment used to evaluate the skills of apprentice interpreters and provide feedback for further skills development.
• FRID EIE - Educational Interpreter Evaluation - The FRID Educational Interpreter Evaluation (EIE) is a diagnostic assessment used to evaluate the skills of apprentice interpreters working in educational settings and provide feedback for further skills development.
• QA and EIE Levels – FRID offers the following guidelines for the use of screened apprentices of interpreting. The type of settings in which the apprentice is utilized should be considered based on capability of the apprentice and the situational demands. Professional judgment on the part of the apprentice and the hiring agent should be exercised.
