MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES, DEFINITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS DUES

Certified Membership

Any individual who is an Active Certified Member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc.

$38.00

Associate Membership

Any individual who is an Associate Member of the RID. (This category includes members who hold a QA and/or EIE Level from FRID)

$38.00

Supporting Member

Any individual with an interest in supporting the purposes and activities of the Corporation and is a Supporting Member of the RID.

Organizational Membership

Any organization/institution with an interest in supporting the purposes and activities of the Corporation. This is a non-voting membership.

Student Membership

Any individual who is currently taking 6 or more credit hours, with the goal of program completion in an Interpreter Training Program, Deaf Studies Program, or ASL Studies Program, or is taking 12 credit hours or more in an accredited college or university. Applicants must attach current copy of class schedule or submit a current letter from coordinator/instructor with membership application on an annual basis. This is a non-voting membership and does not include reduced evaluation fees.

ATTENTION: ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Re: Termination of Quality Assurance Levels (QA) and/or Educational Interpreting Levels (EIE)

An individual’s QA and/or EIE Level shall be terminated for non-payment of dues or maintenance fees, which results in an invalidation of screening, and individuals thus forfeit all rights and privileges of such status. Note: The renewal deadline is September 1, 2008.
